The idea was originated by Brad Lloyd (AtomicInternet) when he organized a tour of the AutoAlliance Plant in Flat Rock, MI. This event was called the "Drive Home" and is now referred to as the original Cougarfest. 35 people in 21 Cougars drove from Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI down I-75 to AutoAlliance for a tour of the plant. One member was able to raise funds for free CD Players and lawn chairs. After the tour the event was over.
